Tolerance

El Templo - for the Intolerance article I sincerely believe that the problem of intolerance comes from the fact that we are intolerant with ourselves first. I think that the real problem lies in our inhereted need for perfection, in which we do not allow ourselves to make mistakes, simply because we have not yet come to understand that these errors are nothing more than the natural process of learning. Spanish flag 45x30

When we realize that we are like children in a constant state of growth or maturation; and that it is normal to make mistakes, get angry, feel sad, judge others... when we understand this in ourselves, when we feel love for this child that is growing, learning, developing... we immediately understand this in others, and can immediately feel this same love for others.

Today, I have no doubt that this "ego" that we criticize so much is nothing more than our "inner child". It needs love and understanding. We need understanding and love.

And when that love that we sought outside of ourselves we finally find inside— where it was always waiting for us—it is then that this love inevitably bursts forth. It is impossible to contain it. It is impossible that it not overflow from within us to others, towards the world, to the whole of creation.

At least that was my experience, almost overnight, 13 years ago. I stopped judging myself because I could see myself through the understanding eyes of love. And my world changed in a matter of days. All I saw was love, beauty, perfection. And in that state of divine reverie I stayed for several months. Nothing bothered me. I was always present, always happy...

At first, I did not understand what had happened to explain this extraordinary change. Nor was I obsessed with knowing it. I simply enjoyed it; enjoyed how it had affected me, how it was now affecting my environment and the people around me...

But today I am convinced that the change occurred because I saw myself with new eyes. Through the eyes of love.

That wonderful discovery I owe to the fact that, at the crucial moment in my life, the book "You can heal your Life" by Louise L. Hay providentially reached my hands. It was all a before and after moment.

Thanks Louisy!
