Machu Picchu

I can say that my spiritual journey began here. I did not know it as such at the time, but I was beginning then to follow the signs, the omens, the sychronicities that had always been there awaiting my recognition and embrace of them.

I had started reading as many books as I could to help me deal with the breakup of my marriage. Traditional therapy had helped me intellectually understand what had happened, but the hole that I felt in my heart was being filled by books such as the Conversations with God series by Neale Donald Walsch and the works of Louise Hay and Paolo Coelho.

The very first book that I read, however, was The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield. And it was while reading the book that friends from work invited me to join them on a trip to Peru. For those who don't know, the story takes place in Peru and involves a young man learning to follow and trust signs. Wanting to put into practice what I was learning from the self-help books, especially learning to trust my intuition and follow the signs that I believed were there to guide me, I joined them without thinking, without planning and without preparation of any kind.
